New Delhi Railway Station, New Delhi


Indian Railways intend to redevelop New Delhi Railway Station into a World Class Station on PPP Model, by allowing commercial exploitation of Railway Land in the area surrounding the New Delhi Railway Station, spread between Connaught Place in south and Sadar Bazar on the north. Total outlay for the project is Rs 7000 Crores.
M/s Terry Farrell & Partner, Hong Kong are the Urban Designers for the preparation of the Master Plan & feasibility study and Design Action Group are the Local Architects.

Project:
The project site is 86 hectares and it is planned to construct over 10,00,000 sq mts of built up area over 10 to 15 years. It includes, Railway station to be built in 2 phases, Hotel, commercial areas, staff accommodation, Railway offices, and social infrastructure related with the proposed development. Traffic and transport system with in the property and in its surrounding areas is being reviewed as a part of the comprehensive planning.

Role of DAG:
Study of surrounding areas that have influence over the Master Plan. Inter face with statutory / Local bodies. Integration of various development proposals around the project site.
