The site is situated on the National Highway connecting Siliguri to Gangtok. The upper Levels of the Hotel provides a view of the Darjeeling Hills on North & West side and the National Park on the East side. The river Mahananda flows on the west of the property and the Teesta flows on the Eastern side.
Project:
The narrowness of the site (30 x 200 mt) itself has contributed in evolution of a linear design of this hotel, which has been influenced by the natural beauty that surrounds the site. The stepped profile of the building reflects the ambience created by hills in the vicinity.
It is a 64 room centrally air conditioned hotel having built-up area of 12,000 sq. mt. Public areas include a Double Height Lobby, an Atrium Tea Lounge, a Multi-cuisine Restaurant, a Chinese Restaurant, a Bar and a Banquet hall for 400. Swimming pool on the West is visually & physically connected with the Multi-cuisine Restaurant. Each of the Guest Room either has a view of the Darjeeling Hills or the National Park or the river. Most of the guest rooms have two of these views. The entrance Level has been raised to the first floor level, in order to accommodate Banquet Hall and the Main Kitchen at the ground. Engineering Services have been placed in the basement.
