The Gir Forest Lodge is situated in Gir Forest, the Sanctuary for Asiatic Lion, at Sasangir, Gujarat. It falls on the bank of a river flowing through the Gir Forest. The building was originally owned and built by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, and subsequently taken over by Indian Hotels Company (IHC).
Project:
The Project Involved major renovation in the building, additions of guest rooms and dormitories, change of façade of the building to suit the climate and redoing engineering services to meet the standards set by IHC. The unique exercise undertaken for the project was to utilize the surplus / used building material and products of a number of IHC hotels and blending the same with the local materials.
Role of DAG:
Architecture, Structure, Electrical Engineering, Plumbing, Interiors and Constant Supervision.
